Estimize is a unique service that collects data from crowded sources to predict the results of quarterly earnings reports. Instead of giving a platform to a small handful of Wall Street analysts, Estimize allows anyone, from Wall Street analysts to individual retail investors, to provide revenue and EPS estimates. In doing so, Estimize offers a broader market view than you would normally get.
So can Estimime help you change your earnings? We’ll cover everything you need to know about this platform in our Estimate review.

How does Estimar work?
Before exploring the features of Estimate, it is important to understand how this platform generates data. Estimize allows anyone to contribute anonymously to earnings predictions in their database. This includes Wall Street analysts, fund managers and, most importantly, retail investors. Contributors are not required to have any qualifications to contribute to Estimize.
This approach means that the Estimize database has predictions from a wide range of investors. However, it also means that Estimize may be biased by the bad predictions of inexperienced investors. The platform filters contributions by the number of times and accuracy that a contributor has added estimates in the past, which contributes greatly to ensuring the quality of the database.
According to Estimize, the platform exceeds Wall Street estimates on EPS and revenue 74% of the time.
The main feature that Estimize provides to subscribers is access to their database. After all, what makes this platform unique is the earnings estimation dataset that covers nearly 2,000 different companies.
While not perhaps a dedicated selection tool, such as FinViz Stock Screener or Uncle Stock, Estimize offers a selection tool to help users navigate their database. The selection program allows you to easily find companies for which there is a big difference between Wall Street earnings expectations and Estimated earnings expectations (revenue or EPS). You can also look back at historical data to find stocks where actual earnings were very different from Wall Street or Estimize predictions.
Another neat aspect of the selection program is that it allows you to search for stocks with “gain momentum”. That is, you can look for stocks for which the Estimate or Wall Street EPS or revenue consensus has been rising or falling in recent weeks. Even Estimize allows you to filter companies based on how well Estimize’s predictions have been for that stock in the past.
Estimize also offers a calendar for investors who want to examine companies with near-term gains. For each next day, you can see a list of scheduled stock earnings reports and economic versions. A table shows Wall Street and Estimize predictions, making it easy to spot discrepancies that may offer trading potential.
The Estimize database is not just limited to revenue and revenue estimates for individual businesses. It also includes forecasts of key economic releases, such as the consumer price index, new housing and the unemployment rate. Users can also provide predictions of international economic indicators in the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, China, and several other countries.
Ranking and Leagues
Estimize partially gamifies the process of contributing profits and economic forecasts by assigning points to users for each estimate they make. The number of points awarded to a collaborator is based on the accuracy of their estimate. For stock earnings, they receive points when their estimate is more accurate than Wall Street and they lose points when their estimate is less accurate.
Based on this points system, Estimize ranks all users who contribute to the platform. While user identities are hidden, you can track individual contributors and see what estimates they have about upcoming revenue.
Estimize also has competitive leagues that allow you to fight for more accurate earnings predictions against other users. Some of these leagues are sponsored and have cash prizes for the most accurate collaborators. Alternatively, you can create your own league if you want to compete against friends.
Love customization and design
The Estimize web interface is easy to navigate. Most data is presented in tables that can be sorted by any column and you have the option to export any data to Excel for further analysis. In addition, Estimize allows you to save stocks or economic indicators to your watchlists and follow analysts you like.
Estimate platform differentiators
Estimize’s database of EPS, revenue, and economic forecasts is relatively unique. While it’s easy to find Wall Street consensus estimates, there are few other platforms that allow lay investors and analysts to contribute data together. The fact that Estimize is anonymous makes it more attractive to professional analysts without deterring individual investors from contributing.
It is important to note that Estimize not only brings together all the estimates provided to create its database. The quality of the platform filters the data and this additional step goes a long way in getting the database up and running. According to Estimize, the platform’s consensus estimates exceeded Wall Street estimates 74% of the time.
What kind of merchant is Estimize best for?
Estimize is best for investors who want to trade around earnings reports and economic publications. It’s particularly good for traders who want to spot gains or losses: Estimize makes it easy to find stocks for which there’s a big discrepancy between Wall Street’s consensus predictions and Estimize.
That said, traders should keep in mind that Estimize contributors don’t offer any information on how they came up with their estimates. Therefore, Estimate data is best used as a data point among many others.
