TradingView Review

There are many websites that offer free stock charts. But some greatly limit what you can do if you don’t pay.

In some cases, this can make them almost useless, especially when you consider all the ads. Other places may be too cumbersome or slow to use.

TradingView solves these two problems. It has a sleek website that performs as well as a desktop. The site is not full of ads and is very easy to use. You will think you are working with a desktop application. Let’s see what makes TradingView so unique and why it has such great tracking.

What is TradingView?

TradingView is a fintech technology that provides a stock analysis platform. It was established in 2011 and is headquartered in London, England. It also has an office in Westerville, OH.

The founders of TradingView are Constantine Ivanov, Denis Globa and Stan Bokov. It has raised $ 40.8 million through a round of Series B funding. And, as of 2021, it says more than 30 million retailers visit its site each month.

What does it offer?

TradingView provides a trading platform within a web browser that works just as well as a native desktop application. The user experience is stellar and is one of the best of all web based trading platforms.

You can trade directly from TradingView by linking your brokerage account. More than 20 runners are allowed. Why would you want to do that? Once you have tried TradingView and got a good idea, you will probably find that it does much more than the trading platform offered by your broker.

In addition to trading, TradingView provides great technical analysis. You will have access to any indicator that comes to mind. In addition, there is a community of developers who create indicators and make them available to TradingView subscribers. These custom indicators extend the functionality of TradingView.

TradingView interacts with social media. Traders like to share the settings of a potential trade. TradingView makes it easy to post your trading settings on social media.

Free version capable

You might expect the free version of TradingView to be so small and advertising that it may not be worth it. This is not at all the case.

The free, albeit limited, version includes many features. In fact, for some people, it may be all they need. As for the ads, there are some in the free version, but they are not interposed. Once you go to the paid version, your ads will be deleted.

Extensive feature set

TradingView has great tracking because it makes it easy to capture trading strategies, stylish charts and custom indicators. People can post this content to the community section for other people to use.

TradingView technical analysis

In addition to the reusable graphics features posted by others, there is a whole educational side to the community section. Educational content is created by other users and is accompanied by graphics. You can click on a graphic of an educational article and interact with it.

Custom scripts

This is an advanced feature that allows you to program your own scripts on a chart. But you don’t have to be a programmer to use this feature. If a developer provides you with a script, you can just paste it into the script editor and no longer.

TradingView custom scripts

Some trading services provide TradingView scripts to their subscribers. These scripts update daily levels and other information that may change each day. Pasting an updated script into a chart is an easy way to reset a chart with updated information. This is much more efficient than manually moving or adjusting levels.

Live or simulated trading

TradingView integrates with more than 20 brokers. Sounds awesome on the surface. But it’s important to note that many important names are missing, such as TD Ameritrade, Fidelity, and Charles Schwab.

However, many cryptocurrency traders may be happy to learn that the Gemini exchange is compatible. Here are all the brokerage platforms that can currently be linked to TradingView:

  • TradeStation
  • OANDA
  • FOREXcom
  • FXCM
  • Alpaca
  • Twins
  • AMP
  • CQG FCM
  • iBroker
  • Saxo
  • Translated
  • HitBTC
  • WH Self-investment
  • Alor
  • IronBeam
  • Tiger runners
  • Capitalcom
  • Currencycom
  • Chaka
  • Tickmill
  • global Prime

If you just want to try the TradingView platform without linking an account, you can do so using their paper trading simulator. No brokerage account is required to perform simulated transactions and can give you the opportunity to try out all the features of the platform.

Mobile and computer applications

TradingView has a mobile app that will sync with your website account. If you want a native desktop application experience, TradingView also offers it. The desktop application will perform even higher than the web browser application. In addition, you will get support for multiple monitors.

Are there rates?

With the free version there is no charge. Just sign up. There are three free upper levels. They are currently priced at $ 14.95, $ 24.95 and $ 59.95. As you progress through levels, you’ll get more indicators, more graphics per design, more alerts, the ability to use multiple devices simultaneously, and more.

How can I contact TradingView?

Unfortunately, unless you are a paid subscriber, there is no way to contact TradingView. It is understandable that this disables a large number of potential customers. Even after registering as a free subscriber, you will only have the option to submit a ticket.

Customer service ratings

TradingView is rated 3.1 out of 5 stars based on 358 reviews on Trustpilot. There are many reviewers who call the company a scam. But this probably has more to do with the lack of customer service, as TradingView is a legitimate service. In G2, TradingView has a score of 4.2 out of 5 based on 16 reviews.

How does TradingView compare?

TradingView’s biggest competitor may be StockCharts. StockCharts also has extensive charting features, but its interface is not as smooth. There are more drop-down menus to click. It doesn’t have a large list of agent integrations, but it does offer stock trading and options through Tradier brokerage. StockCharts prices are very similar to TradinView.

It should also be noted that many of the best runners also offer strong graphics tools. TD Ameritrade’s ThinkorSwim could be the most notable brokerage trading platform. It is full of features and is completely free for TD Ameritrade customers. Check out this quick comparison chart:

How do I open an account?

Opening an account with TradingView is easy. Just visit TradingView.com and click the “Start Free Trial” button. Your subscription will take less than a minute and no sensitive information is required unless you have a paid subscription.

Is it safe and secure?

Yes, the TradingView website is encrypted. TradingView is not a broker or a bank, so there is no FDIC or SIPC insurance. It is basically an e-commerce company.

Is it worth it?

Yes, given the degree of presentation of complex data and its extensive set of features, working with the TradingView platform is a worthwhile experience. Unless you need a lot of indicators, you’ll probably find that the free version is all you need. Please note that technical support will be absent.

You want to skip TradingView if you are more interested in fundamental analysis, as it is only a technical analysis platform. And if you want to compare its features with similar platforms, check out our favorite free stock charts websites.
